Craft

Popsicle wall decor: This is the lesson that Anabelle and I taught together. We started by having students practice eight different patterns on a piece a paper. Once the decided on the ones that they liked we put those patterns on to eight popsicle sticks. Students got a choice of duplicating patterns (using four patterns and alternating) or doing eight different patterns. Once all patterns were drawn onto the sticks with sharpie we attached the tassels onto the bottom stick. We then cut long pieces of yarn to connect all the sticks together. 

Extension Activity: I would use this craft in my classroom, I think that students would really enjoy it. I think that it would be cool to add in a concept of ancient patterns and tie in some social studies into what we are creating.
