Hand print painting (3rd grade): We all created a different animal out of our hand prints. we got to sketch out different ideas and brainstorm what we could make out of our hand print. Once we had decided on an animal we made sure to plan out the habitat that our animal was going to be living in. We had to make sure to include three other elements past our handprint animal. I put my jellyfish in the ocean, with some seaweed and there are some fish swimming around.
Extension activity: After completing this art activity, I would have students write a story about their animal. How they got to where they are, or what they would do next. It could be factual, or they could get as creative as they want.
